I have an atman 2226. Previously use for my 2.5ft tank. I have been using it for about 6 months for my new 4 ft tank. I find the flowrate insufficient for my 4 ft.

I would like to check whether Jeba cannister filter is good. Or any other brands to recommend? I know eheim is good but very expensive.

    Thanks!
    Regards
    William

i got a jebao 918 and eheim 2217 running on my 4 feet.
    jebao's pretty good and silent........comes with a self-primer.
go check out www.arofanatics.com's forum and search for jebao. you should be able to get a lot of info on pricing and reviews.

ask around LFSs on the prices for jebao 918......some places offer it lower and with filter media inclusive too. but for the kiasu me......i bought extra media to go along with it.

the eheim 2217 is another value for money cannister with a reputation and guarantee, lotsa space for filter media too........but no self primer. if given the choice, i would run a eheim pro 2 2026 with the jebao 918 in tandem

Think you should re-evaluate your concept... Don't think ECON... Think durable, reliablilty, Spares, efficency, effectiveness...

    ONE WORD: Eheim

Cheapo Series: 2213/5/7 Classic cylindrical cannister
    Mid Range: 2224/6/8 Rectangular cannister
Expensive Series: 2024/6/8 Rectangular Cannister with priming function.

I'm using 2028 for 4ft right now. you can use 2026 (same pump/impeller model) , but you might end up being dissatisfied with only two baskets later..

Between 250 to 300 , between 350 to 400 respectively. I got a friend Eheim Filter 2224 last him 7 years, still going strong! cost justified.

Petmart prices like not bad, Nature Aquarium too. Generally the prices are quite close so save the trip

My Resun 8 month only, I find the efficiency droping. even after I clean up the filter and piping, flowrate is not as strong as before.

By the way, why do you need to upgrage your filter.

When you said insufficient for your 4ft tank, what do you mean?

I find the flow very sluggish..Not powerful despite I clean up the cannister. Occassionally, it will give out funny noise. Intend to get eheim this time

Besides finding the filter flow sluggish, do you notice any other problems? For my Eheim 2028, the flow is slowed tremendously by my chiller esp when the pipes are dirty. Not really a proble as the bio filtration are mainly done by the plants.
If you do find it better to change the filter, by all means go ahead but just so you know.. it's not a necessity.
    Cheers!!

I also recommend you to use Ehiem! My unit been used for 6 years already! Moreover, should any parts fail(touchwood!), you can go to any lfs to get the spare part!

    Cheers!
