There are quite a few in the market,
You can check out Benibachi Crimson Black Soil, Borneowild shrimp soil, Mosura soil or project soil.
You get Benibachi Crimson Black Soil, Borneowild shrimp soil from Green Chapter.
    Mosura soil maybe from Colourful.

You are heading in the wrong direction with the use of sms language. Your reply will be deleted if you continue doing it.

Re: Which soil to use for crs?

We are very particular about spelling in AQ. Main reason is not all AQ members (older folks and non-English speaking) are familiar with SMS/IM lingo. The rationale are spelt out in detail in the FAQ under the AQ rules section. Please take some time to read it.

We do ignore what looks like genuine spelling mistakes (highlighted in blue), but the following (highlighted in red and bold) do not look like mistakes, but habit. We request that you do not use these mis-spellings in AQ. If we see the same "genuine spelling mistakes" over and over again by the same person, we will start to draw different conclusions:

The moderators volunteer their valuable time outside of work, studies and personal/family time and they try to monitor as many as threads possible, but they can't monitor all. They are just helping AQ to be a pleasant place and useful resource for all. Kindly do not give them a hard time.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.

Re: Which soil to use for crs?

I tried Amazonia II soil for my CRS tank. Very good result.

You are also correct that I observed this brand of soil degenerates very fast, probably over 9 months (?), it it will form a cake-like substrate on the tank floor.

Have not tried any other brands to comment.

Re: Which soil to use for crs?

Ya, amazonia is good but its like overpowering too much at first and after a year or so its not so good.Actually all the soil are the same its just that the expiry date for amazonia is faster.
But in singapore i seldom see LFS selling amazonia, where do you get from?

Re: Which soil to use for crs?

I know some of my friends using Gex soil, they mentioned it is stable in terms of ph. I used ADA II soil, didn't ready measure the ph level, but my fishes are ok, intends to keep CRS or Fire Red shrimp in the near future.

Re: Which soil to use for crs?

I use to get Amazonia II soil from Nature Aquarium in Thomson Road or Petmart in Serangoon.

I did measured my ADA soil tank when new to be around PH6.0. At end of first year, it was around PH6.5. I would say this is good range for shrimp tank though.

Yes, measured the ADA II soil, it's at ph 6.5, will measure it in another few more days to see if is stable.
