Give me the feeling of a SW tank. Like a FOWLR tank.
Maybe is due to the background color...

Thought of sharing something different here.
Comments and critics welcome.

With the light colored sand, you are not going to keep the lights on everyday for too long right? Am thinking about algae...
What kind of WC regime are you going to do for this tank since there is no need to dose ferts?

Sorry for the noob question but what is WIWO. How is it perform?

David,
Hmmm, I feel that the background for Malawi and African cichlids should be more rocky, I can create a rocky background beaming with small caves for the response to cichilds' inadequate territory for their breeding and feeding needs.
Should have call me , lah!

Sorry to be off topic here, can't help to ask what are the benefits of WIWO? I assume newly added water is aged water and not fresh from tap?

WIWO is like when there is cloudy water then you connect a hose that suck the cloudy water out and at the same time another hose that release fresh/clear water and just let it run till wawter clears.

WIWO was deployed here not because of customers site. I decide to deployy wiwo because it is faster and the dirty water are used by the students to water the plants so there are no waste.
Also to prevent chloride burnt, the fresh water from the tap will have to pass through a carbon chamber before entering the tank. I learnt this from Thio.

Good question. How I do this WIWO is I will first drain the tank water by 50% first. when the 50% mark is reached, then will I inject in the fresh water. After the new water is introduced, I will wait for roughly 30 minutes before removing the suction hose. Hope this helps.
