    Hi all,

my plant tank was setup about one week ago.
Recently, I had spotted mosquito or midges larval on the water surface and a few grow up mosquito/midges around the wall of my tank.
    Please help?

    Some question for plant tank,
    1) what is the best position of the filter outlet? Submerge in the water or just at the surface?
    2) for plant tank, how much ripple (water waves) is the most ideal case? Read some doc, saying that still water is best for water planting?? Won't still water attracted mosquito breeding??
    3) Any recommended fish/chemical solution to fight midges/mosquito? my tank have some tetra, but seem like they don't feed on it?

I have go thru the faq forum page, but unable to find this solution. Or maybe i miss out. Please advice. Thanks in advance...

    regards

Try adding in fishes which feed at the water surface.

Do you have a surface skimmer or a fan blowing at the water? This shld quite effectively prevent mosquitoes since they preferr still water. A little turbulence created by a fan (which purpose is to lower tank temp) is fine for a planted tank.
