Beneficial bacteria is still present, but limited to water expose areas like substrate.

Haha, lucky I never put anything outside anymore, the only casualty recently was a bag of soil left for drying, the neighboring kids made a mess outside my shoe cabinet

Hmm, sounds good, if thats the case, I should be able to set up 2 1ft tanks side by side, powered by a 2ft FL lightset. I still have my leftover horti soil & 8L worth of aquasoil... *plan* *plan*

Wow....very interesting. Enjoyed seeing this refreshing way of doing planted tanks. Have always imagined doing an outdoor tank myself too.

Most important is getting the experience Adrain. Next is challenge..cause when you see the plants red in the tanks plus limited algae... extremely satisfying.

Hello Tan, got some uncles nearby who do this, bare bottom and just horti soil and lotus plant. If you can afford the space, i encourage to try... it's not that hard a task.. Adrain says is correct, bad season use something shade the tanks...

Haha, life's good. Just ended poly and going NS soon. Old bird reporting for national duty.

Alamak, go easy on me please. hahaha. Nowadays my hand itchy to plan nano setups only.. Too paranoid when I have big tanks around the house, scare they break anytime. Just set up another low tech. Waiting for Java ferns to bush is one heck of a waiting time.

Wah. Did your garden survive the ordeal? Me too, sometimes just feel like whack those visiting kids. No choice but to keep the corridor clean and clear I planning to start one indoors, rack system borrowing the main tank's lighting. Easy to pluck when they mature hehehe.

Nsf is a good time. For some a good holiday in reservist.

So far only twice have problems with kids that have itchy hands. Other then that, nothing much to complain haha... Worse thing outside is green water which runs rampart at this time of the year.

Indoor farm is good especially when you can spare the space.. Be sure to open a juicy great hor

Bro Felix makes all the high tech planted tank owners (including myself) ponder why we are spending so much time and effort when it's possible with the elements (sun and outdoor)!
Felix: how do you prevent the strong sun light from burning the leaves?

True that! Sometimes outdoor planting is so much more relaxing rather than stressing over lighting and dosing problems for indoor tanks.
