    Egg shells is mainly CaCo3. I will be trying to use this in my filter to provide for Ca. Anyone done this before?

    Ya, done that before. Threw half an egg shell into the tank cos suspected GH not enough. Didn't have GH test kit.[]

    The shell gets dissolved over time (by the weak carbonic acid from dissolved CO2).

    Coral chips has Mg and Ca. And I am not sure of the of their concentrations. I don't want Mg to be more than Ca. And I seem to experience different gH levels with different sources of coral chips.

    Thought of trying to boost Ca levels this cheap way.

    How bout those Ca suppliment from GNC??? can those be used? Dr Mallick have any Ca stuff... Generally his Fert relatively cheap.
