Your metal mesh's holes are too big to keep out shirmplets from going into your filter compartment

how much is this tank? its ADA brand?

What is the 3rd photo... what did you add? lava rocks?

It's the other Ada brand from china haha, given to my dad by my uncle, he not using so I "cope" first
Yes I always add a layer of lava chips and small rocks on the bottom layer, with old sea mud powder and borneowild humic.
The fan is by ista, some Taiwan brand, extended fan plus. It's a tornadoe fan, I'm using the same one for my iwagumi, very silent and effective. Buy from seaview, alot cheaper than elsewhere. And yes, high evaporation rate, my nano I have to top up about 1 litre everyday.

How did you manage to isolate humic as the cause of CRS breeding?

Seaview got sell, buy from there cheaper. Humic might be a factor, but it all adds up I think haha. Yea, alot of evapouration, but at least it's working haha! Now I got to think long term whether to upgrade their tank lol.

    Re: Newbie Nano Shrimp Tank

BORNEOWILD HUMIC is an organic, granulated humus conditioner that buffers water at pH 6 - 6.5 and gH 3-4. It is ideal for improving activities, survival ratio and higher success rate of breeding in bee shrimps. It also serves as a source of nutrients for microbes, thus maintaining high and healthy levels of soil life. With its hormonal characteristics, plant growth and root development are also enhanced.
Thats the humic description , does not tell me exactly how it increase their sexual appetite .. lol

    Re: Newbie Nano Shrimp Tank

Higher breeding success rate I guess, but do you guys realize one of it's ingredients is copper? But being borneowild, I assume it's shrimp safe haha. Maybe only a little trace of it, hmm.

I have not used humic ..I also not sure how it will buffer its PH and GH with also the soil(also buffers) on top of it. seems like u can achieve 6.2PH and 4GH is v good condition. it is also expensive for a bottle for 2 ft tank.
and it also promote root plants meaning has fertilizer also? so copper is one of the elements in fertilizer.
