Media for ehiem 2026

Can anyone suggest me what media should i put in for ehiem 2026 in order from the top?

I am rearing shrimps and going to be my first canister. Thx

Ehiem subtract pro is good enough. get those 5 litres type. a 2026 can hold 3 litres, the rest of the 2 litres can keep or sell off. cheaper this way. if you intend to run 2 canister in series, you can make use of the 2 litres left. add a prefilter in front and all good to go for a shrimp tank.

Thanks for your reply. But don't you need another kind of media and the soft sponge in the canister?

for my setup, i actually use a prefilter ( filled with white wool ) as a mech filtration process.
