Is it weird that my CRS doesn't really like mosura excel? they seem to prefer my borneowild spinach, but still after a few bites they'll just leave it. Is this normal? their colours are pretty good and not faded, moving around quite actively, or do they prefer other sources of food? and what are the suitable and preferred food to feed them?

and also is there a safe way to lower GH? or just changes water as soon possible?

Hi jovel, are you using my food kit?
Yes similar here, my shrimps prefer crs haven food, azoo food, follow by spinach and lastly excel.
However, I'll still feed them with excel as different food contains different elements.

I think its a very common sign for shrimps not to like excel. Mine does not like excel that much but if you starve them a few days they will still eat it. What i feel is excel might not be so strong in scent/flavour as the other brands. Have you found out the reason for your high gh? and whats your gh like now?

If you like Mosura products can try Mosura speciality food. My shrimps and ottos like it. But do change abit of their diet from time to time to let them absorb other nutrients and minerals.
You can try natural foods like boiled spinach, ketapang leaf or cucumber.

My crs also don't like Excel. I will feed them Excel after 1 day of not feeding them. Then they will be hungry and go for the Excel

i starve them for like 3 days and they still dont like it haha, they seem to be busier nipping around the gravel, but i didnt feed anything else thou.
i think my gh in my main tank was high because of dosing of borneowild growth which contains calcium and magnesium, alrdy moved my crs to a smaller tank with borneowild shrimp soil.
the gh in the main tank was over 10 haha. gosh.

Boil the ketapang leave 1st, boil till it loses the brownish coloration. Then cool it, before feeding.

I will not describe as soggy, but it will be soft and tendancy to tear easily. just handle it carefully. you can try to leave it to dry before putting in your tank. When you put it in your tank it will float around in your tank. so if possible use something to weigh it down. If not DIY a stainless steel rod to pierce it and let it hang on your tank. I'll take pictures later and upload to show you what I've done.

hmm, maybe you should try other food then but if yours is a planted tank, chances are they might have fed on other particles on the plants or moss. GH 10 kind of high so better find out why. rocks or wood might cause high GH as well.

gH 10 is pretty high...which will cause molting problem...Which can lead to death.
There must be some stuff in your tank that have cause this problem...Or over dosing of some mineral stuff...

Nothing much you can do but wc....use Distilled water for wc....
    Slowly drip in...instead of pouring....

I bought some distilled water and mix in with my aged water during water change, gh dropped a little, will do another wc on sunday. I guess its the rocks in the tank? i got 5 rocks, 4 fairly bigger sized ones, maybe I'll try some benbachi fulvic grains, anyone used it before?

If your rocks are the cause, the gH will continue to riase higher. Adding benbachi fulvic grains will not help. You have to remove the rocks or the gH will continue to rise
