Ok, back to the problem of the thread starter.
What type of filter are you running and for how many weeks exactly? Before you decided to keep cherry shrimps did you find out what their requirements are? Now I suggest before you turn your tank upside down by changing this and that. You should try to read up on what you need. Then only after doing that you come back and ask questions about things you don't understand. We are not here to spoon feed you, otherwise we might as well keep the shrimps for you.

Bro too much bubble i have the 1 whole pcs one last time i lay it the back of the tank the shrimps like love to go there spa like that hahaha..... that why i call it a jaccuzi. Don't really need that not i find those sponge filter more useful can culture BB at the same time.

Thank you zenith! That thread helped alot!
I shall go save up more for the soil and powder and then start all over again, will try again soon! I'm sorry for not providing enough information and not doing my research well before coming here. Sorry and thank you guys!
Now im much more clearer on what to do!

Do you have any test kits currently?
Cherries are tough! it takes alot to kill them. I had some breeding in a 2.5 gallon jar with mosses and no lighting, so I know they can take alot of hits. I suggest a lapis lazuli base sand, it is a neutral quartzite based sand, cheap and functional for shrimps. Should you want to raise ph, add coral chips. To reduce ph, add dried ketapang leaves. A cheapo sponge filter with a cheapo air pump to drive it, and ask the aquarium shop owners if in doubt. Plant wise, sword plants (such as you already have) would work well. I don't see how the cherries died in your tank, but to err on the side of caution, let the tank mature for a month before adding shrimp.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and he will drink beer while getting sunburnt.

I agree with bro avex... Invest in a set of liquid test kits.. You don't have to keep testing but at least you have the test kits available when you need to..

Where you live. I can pass you some strip type. I stay toa payoh.
I bought my ada2 at 36 from NA, it's a 9L pack if I'm not wrong. ( search the forum I do remember shrimp keepers say that suffice for 2feet tank)
Btw: my cherry are subjected to outdoor temp 26-32 and they even breed still. IMO their really hardy. Most likely quite bad water conditions.

Shrimp keeping can be very costly. But to be really committed you have to save some money to do things correctly. Some money cannot save, if not you will end up spending more than you wanted to save. Test kits are important if you intent to keep expensive shrimps.

nono as in big spongy oxygen outlet

big air sponge filter.

Then dont hurry to go buy yet. Because first you need to decide what you want to do next (e.g save money to buy soil or powder or kit?)
There is alot of information out there (and here) so you need to think and then plan what you want to do step by step so that you can
minimise errors.![]()
bro sheepzy,
Please PM me your number.. I will help you as best as I can with all the information that you will need to start this tank anew.
There is a lot of information. From what I know, I feel that you saw cherry shrimps, and just put together a set-up that looks good to you aesthetically without actually realizing what the decor did to the water parameters. I also believe that you didn't do much research about what cherry shrimps needed in order to survive.. since they are quite cheap!
But don't be disheartened. A lot of us (including myself) have started this hobby without fully understanding all the requirements for our beautiful shrimps! My first tank that I set up for my CRS had 30 Galaxies, and 2 GERMAN RAMS! -_- !!
I know what it's like to have an impulse feel.. I'm the kind of guy that when I see something I want, I want it there and then. This leads to a lot of ill-advised purchases.
I made many expensive mistakes and learned painfully. It'd be good for me to call you so I can help you avoid the many mistakes I've made. The list is very... very long and far too much to type!
bro, good gesture but it better for the TS to start gaining knowledge from reading the older threads. if not, you are just trying to fill up a bottomless pit. hee hee. what if you miss out some parts ( there's too much do and don't ) and TS will be back to square ones.
i remember when i started, i always try to find out info myself from google.
and i started from this
to this

You can't explain it simply, you don't understand it (well enough )..." - Albert Einstein
Everybody has their start, every aquarist have times when they are inexperience and lessons are learnt either the painfully expensive way or the less expensive way by conducting extensive research before plunging into keeping of fishes or shrimps.don't be disheartened, many of us here failed one way or another before thus we understand very well how lousy it feels. But do not worry because they are many experience aquarist here willing to help you..Firstly on your part, you have to conduct research on the net on your own, because when people spoonfeed you ,you wont learn.(please understand the harsh tones of some aquarist here, they are really helping you too).
If you are dealing with a tank less than 10L(without chiller)i will be able to help you since i too managed to maintain crs in it without death.(alot of research went into it).feel free to fire questions, all of us will help.
