Please recommend a HOF for the above with low power consumption because I will need seven of these, and has good media capacity.

New project ? GEX Slim S hang on filter should not be a problem enough for media..Is the slimmest hang on filter in the market. If looking for better brand eheim 2006 would be the choice...

Not really new project, but want to upgrade from sponge air filter. Want to have cleaner water.

using Gex Slim S for my 1feet cube... kinda like too much water surface movement... so i turn to half valve... morning wake up its 29 celcius!!! motor itself is in the tank!!!
am wondering Shiruba 303 or 301... Eden501... but was told that both is hard to find replacement parts!!! and its bulky!!! but if attach lily pipe... thinks looks great!!!
Apistoinka seems to have tried it... maybe can check with him!!!
in planning stage... so need much information and help!!! and also... bernie... your rack looks COOL!!!

Shiruba 3xx and Eden 501 are small external canisters, though the shiruba can be hang onto tank glass. Prefer a HOF cause can find lower power consumption ones, no tubings (neat and tidy), easy maintanence.
I had compared the Gex and Ehiem on the web, liberty uses lower power, but the Gex looks good. still need to do abit more read up regarding the two especially the filtration surface area.

Thanks Leon, my rack is just normal and cheap type.

be it normal or cheap... it looks clean and proper... and darn SWEET!!! thats EFFORT!!! and Enjoyment!!! must one day go visit!!!

the Slim S... is split into 3 compartment!!!
1- is where the water comes in... i put a fliter there to catch the fine particles... maybe thats why it heats up???
2-3 - is for their provided carbon and bacteria thingy... but i dump substrate pro into them... not well thought on my part because cleaning becomes an hussle!!!
thinking of getting some mesh and partition 2 and 3... so i can dump the substrate in compartment 3... and 2 be filter!!! just my thoughts... what you guys think??? any ideas???

Re: Recommend a HOF for 1.5ft and 1ft.

The way the GEX was designed looks like dipping a heater (the motor) into the water but overall it looked very nice.

The Liberty 2040 though spec for up to 75L, I read that's its only practically good for 15L. The canisiter volume also looks small so if I am going for Liberty, I maybe going for 2041 or 2042 since the flowrate can be adjusted.

Prices for filter & media pads wise are they comparable? Can PM me the prices please.
