Since saw someone talking about this but in fact referring to another, i tot i might start one.
I begin with my favorite best strategist of this period:
Guo Jia, if he did not die young, he could be better then Sima Yi.

Another good strategist is Jia Xu and Xun Yu, both from Wei.
If from Shu, would be Fa Zheng and Pang Tong, both die young as well.
TOP 3 strategist should be PANG TONG . ZHU GE LIANG , SIMA YI... of coz there are many good n capable military advisers around too... Xun Yu , Lu Su , Lu Xun ,JIa Xu, Xu Shu... etc...

Liu Bei, big ear, i felt that he was very cunning but no choice as he have nothing at all. Guan Yu was quite over rated to me, any way, many questions about why Zhao Yun, the most reliable not in charge of Xiang Yang. Well, Zhao Yun that time holds low rank, he did not have much or i say, low in experience in leading troops, one on one he can fight, but not leading army.
The most favorite personnel to me is Cao Cao. He daring moves in politics, using people, tactics at war etc was good, damn good. The best tactics he heed was from Guo Jia in conquering the northern borders after defeating Yuan Shao sons and Guo Jia prediction of the death of both Yuan Shao sons in Liao Dong. His troops speed in traveling was so fast that enemy often caught off guarded.
Forgotten heros: Gan Ning, Zhou Tai and also Tai Qi Ci, all from Wu.
Oh I didn't know that Zhao Yun was low in ranking. I thought he was a General under Kong Rong. A brave fighter and a faithful servant of Shu. I also like Lu Xun. I think he is highly intelligent though he probably still a notch lower than Zhu Ge Liang.

How about who is your most hated character? If I have to pick one, the character that I most dislike is probably Dong Zhuo.

Lu Xun was good, very smart and also good in politics, he knows how to play safe in WU courts, he do not like to mess around with those old birds. He can achieve better if Sun Quan the ruler can be more aggressive, unfortunately, as Sun Quan grows older, he becomes less aggressive.
Most hated, maybe less popular is a better words.
I do not like Yuan Shao and Han emperor Xian Di the most.
i hate yuan shao too, at one time he have the strength n army to win CAo cAO , but he ballon everything not listening to his adviser XUN YOU. CAO CAO AND LIU BEI ARE more fearless
Yuan Shao camp was divided to 2 groups, Yuan Tan and Yuan Shang group, causing a lot conflicts, and thus affected the war.
The most famous tactics that came from Xu You, an deserted advisor from Yuan Shao, was to lead an army, ignore all Cao Cao's camps and troops, quickly attack Cao Cao's HQ which is Xu Chang. Even Cao Cao was caught off guarged by this daring tactic, which will turn the whole battle towards Yuan Shao.
Zhou Yu is talented but fell because jealousy consumed him.
