    hi all,

need the advice from those less technically challenged. As of now, I am using 2 x CRaquarium 55w lights for my 2 ft tank, which is quite a fair bit of overkill. I've taken advice from Thio at Biotope to put some floating plants on the surface to reduce the light and the likelihood of algae development. My question is that is it possible for me to simply switch the tubes to 36w ones, thereby reducing the WPG to a more optimal level? Do i need to make any additional changes to the eballast?

    Thanks!
