Bro, there are alot of factors to plants not growing well. What I can suggest, try getting Borneo Wild recharge. $16/pkt at Green Chapter.

It's shrimp safe and I personally used it. Only require to use once to treat water, break into 4 dosage per week. Can see results in 4 weeks.

will dosing Excel help them recover?
My nick is lizhien. But i'm not a girl. It's Li Zhi En. =) You can call me Cole too.
No it will not. Excel is for CO2 dosing which for an emersed plant is irrelevant. Water lettuce requires high lighting though to grow big and green. When a tank is besides the window, it only recieves lighting during certain period morning/evening. The lighting during this period are inferior for plant growth, also the photoperiod may be insufficient for the plant. My water lettuce similarly grows yellowish and puny compared with the ones in the pond, and it grows directly beneath a 36W light.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and he will drink beer while getting sunburnt.
