I'm using the hard tubing. Logically thinking, if there's a leak in the tubing, it shouldn't affect the output from the cylinder. My bet is that its is unable to get a constant low discharge of gas to to many factors, such as the low temperature when the liquid CO2 changes to gas. Inconsistency.. Oh well.. I found a foreign thread they just change the needle valve to a good brand. Know any that does this?

Facing the same problem too using a manual reguator. I ususally let it go slightly higher then what I want and tone down from there. I think its better is slower then if its too fast, might kill everything in the tank if it goes too quick!

It depend, if you love Aquascaping, you better inject CO2 at the high side. CO2 save you lots of trouble on algae and growth. It take months for scape to mature, whereas I can just buy fish or shrimp from shop within a day.

True.. I'm still learning too hahaha! does it matter where you inject the CO2? I place my diffuser in the lefthand back corner of the tank and the plants there seem to be growning faster.

You should put it somewhere so that the filter flow will carry those tiny bubble all over the place.

I did that, and even got my wife to help when i'm at work. Got home found 1 neon tetra dead and another one of my fave tiny fish (forget its name) dead as well. It could also be due to the recent water change. I added kH plus (Ocean Free) Apparently the instructions were off and I ended up with +4dkH! Arrrggghhh..

Anyways, I gave up with the manual pressure gauge.. Saved the trouble and heart ache, bought a JBJ solenoid from NA. At least it has a 1yr warranty!

Yups, I agree. I follow the CO2 chart which estimates the CO2 level from pH and kH provided you don't use stabilizing buffers (like that those that promise it will not exceed a certain pH).

    CO2 reactor (going for 2-3bps)
The pump pumps out to the rainbar for surface agitation first before entering the Reactor and exits through a pipe that is diverted downwards and tucked neatly behind the reactor and shoots out to the back of the aquarium.

you need to check your soil as well, some soil like ADA soil do change the pH and kH of your tank water. For this case kh/ph table not longer usefull.

Oic, do they specify on the packaging to warn users? I'm using black gravel so i don't know about the soils.

gravel normally ok. I know that ADA soil did mention it on the product web site. They might mention it in the packaging but since it is in Japanese, not a clue
