If u scared your no3 high u can get floating plants like mini lettuce from a bro in the market place who is selling

Hi guys,
I have a tiny 1ft shrimp tank with filter and some plants (eg. fame moss on wire mash, nana, mossball). Some of my shrimp started to died recently so I went out to get those 5 in 1 dip stick test.
These are the results:-
GH: 30mg/l
KH: 40mg/l
PH: 6.5
No2: -
N03: 40mg/l
I guess NO3 is the problem so i put a drop of Biozyme formula 100 that is suppose to reduce the NO3. Any comments? Are all my other readings good? Hope no more of my shrimp die![]()

Another 2 died! Advise anyone hahaha! I have plants in the tank at the moment.. Moss too..

Floating plants like frogbits and plants like hornworths are very good in absorbing nitrates, the plants you listed does not absorb them that well.
Do you go weekly 5-10% water change using aged water?
I can give you frogbits if you come my place at Yio Chu Kang area (4 bus stop from MRT)

Were the cherries ok for sometime and only dying recently? If yes, check for pests like planeria or hydra on your tank glass.
Do you go weekly 5-10% water change using aged water?
Did you cycle your tank for 3-4 weeks before adding shrimps?
What is your water temperature?

Thanks for the reply. No planeria or hydra that i can see.. Been ok for sometime (abt a month already)but been losing 1 or 2 each day this week.. 8 down already. I moved by tank and got a better light cos my moss were turning slightly brown. Now the tips of the moss are green again hahaha but my shrimp are dropping dead. Do weely 10% water change with treated with anit chlorine/chloromine. no chiller so I guess the temp swing when I on the aircon.. room temperature otherwise

Using Nutrafin Aquaplus recommended by the shop keeper at NKS. Hahaha

So bro, spotted any hydras last night?
Find a container to age your water (treated with anit chlorine/chloromin)e for a few days before slowly drop/add into your tank. If you suddenly add in 10% of water at once with different water parameters, it might shock you shrimps.

Hi bro,
Thank you fo much for all you help! Greatly appreciated
I saw some transparent tick like thing.. Very tiny.. Will change water as suggested.

Hi bro gryphon,
Thank you for all your help! This thread is pretty old but I wanted to thank you for your help and here is a picture of my tank. Well my shrimp still die.. Not as rapid as before 2 deaths in the last month. Thank you appreciate your help and advise!
