    Guys

My tank is about 1.5 yrs old. I intend to replant and give it a new look for the year. I would like to check: -

    1) Must I wash the gravel?
    2) Must I put in new base fert
    3) I want to tied moses to those background. What type of background to use and how to do it?
    4) Can I add in fish straight away after my setup? I doesnt have additional place to store them
    5) Must I add an undergravel heater?
    6) Is it necessary to have a UV light?

    Thanks!!!!
    William

if your substrate (gravel and base fert isn't giving you problems like large black patches, turning into mud etc...) just take out the wood/plants/fish and leave them in a large tub (those round plastic thingies sold in neighbourhood sundry shops). Then you can redo the plant/wood/backdrop arrangement to your satisfaction, and then pour water gently back (making sure not to stir up the substrate). If you don't change your tank substrate or filter, putting the fish back shouldn't be a problem. Changing the substrate/filter effectively means a totally new tank which needs to be cycled.

For mooses, try see the backdrop grids at Bioplast. These seem quite good.

No need for undergravel heater, or UV light, IMO.
