No one mentioned Flourish Excel.. But you are right, it's liquid 'CO2'..

Last time I was using EasyLife Profito or my HC in shrimp tank.. I can't confirm if it's shrimp safe but a risk is always there when using fertilizer.. Use at your own risk..

By the way, once you planting HC means it's not really low tech already.. Need high lights, CO2 injection, cold water & fertilizer regime (on & off)..

Also considering BW lush which is shrimp safe for low tech tank

Do not inject excel directly to hc, infact to most plants, excel will kill it. Excel is not as effective as gas co2.

I strongly recommend Seachem Excel, result is better on mosses compare to other brand used before, beside Seachem is also more economical in term of proportional dosage

I will try to dilute in water 1st and use a container to drip into tank when my light is timer on for 4 hours window (8am - 12 pm / 7pm - 11pm)
i read that bio carbon is about 300-400% growth and gas CO2 is like 1000-2000% growth

will update again if HC survive well in a low tec tank, I dont need them to spread wide and grow bushy, just healthy and dont die..

I remember reading some where (Barr Report forum if I'm not wrong) that Flourish Excel is not exactly recommended for shrimps. You might want to stop dosing Excel...

there's like mixed replies from shrimp hobbist, some do not have problem, some have problems

me trying out 1/2 the indication
"1 capful 5ml for every 200 L"
10L is 0.25 ml - so putting less than that .. which is like one drop or 2
using a syringe to measure and inject into dripping water container 1st,
same time going to increase my aeration of my air pump
doing in alternate days or longer intervals

Let's not deviate. Seachem Excel is not meant to be a fertilizer, and yes.. this is not an opinion. It is a fact. Fertilizer means N, P, K and Iron plus whole loads of Trace Elements (TEs).
