Yes, I'm using wireless to control flash. The white backgrounds come from the bounce light, you can change the color to what ever you want, just paste color paper on the wall. Alternatively you can also use simple T5HO light, but more difficult to control because T5HO have no setting. Stand is not necessary since I have my wife holding it but it is good to have if you do it alone.
