Wow Bro, 2Ft Tank With So Many Tetra, And They Really Did School Together ?

    Mine Always Swim Separately. Haha.

Nice Scape. Your Tank Seems So Curvy, Or You Are Using Fish Eye Lens On Your Camera Hehe.

I Sit In Front Of My Tank Every Time And My Brother Said To Me, " You Are Starting To Enter The Old Age Period ". -.-"""""

But It's Really Enjoyable Sitting In Front Of The Tank You Created With Your Own Hand !!

Re: 2 Feet Red Earth...Low Tech

Dear Shun Kun, there is a trick on making neon schooling.... hehe.. wanna learn? treat me coffee i teach you..LOL... the neons are from my previous 1 ft tank... yes.. i over estimate my nano tank... i was attacted to the 10 dollars for 50 neons promotion... regretted immediatley on my way home..LOL..lucky most of the neons survived... some died due to jumping out of the tank..sigh,really heartache as all are very cute and lively..

Shun kun and Yany's tanks are much better and nicer an mine... i wanna keep it low tech, low maintenance & without substrates. But the LFS are not selling many hardy plants..so have to do with what they have for now.. will be adding more plants later...btw, if anyone spot any plants suitable for my background pls let me know... my hornworts are only 5cm tall thats why my background is soooo bare... maybe also due to the blue oyama paper...

Any suggestion on changing the oyama to other colour? all suggestions are welcome....

LOL, all fish/aquascaping lovers face the same issue as you... LOL..we just gaze into the tank with empty thoughts....my wife always complains...hehe..wait till u get married ..then you will understand...LOL

FYi, my tank was curved... as there is no stock for rectangular cabinet during my visit... so have to buy a whole set of curve tank & aquarium.. No money to buy high tech camera with fish eye lenses ah..all money invested into the tank...:P

shun kun, mine is low tech..low fert...normal lighting... yours is high tech... i can't/won't have lush green carpet grass..

If you have algae, maybe you can try my method:-
1)2 x four hours of lighting per day only..mine is 2watt+ per gallon
2)2 otos +3 sae + some Sakura shrimps...
3)have a lot of hornworts... i have 3 bunch of them to control NO3 and they can work wonders.. my NO3 is 0 from start till now..my hornworts are getting taller by the day..haha nice plant for background and maintenance FREE...hehe maybe i will have extra bunch by next month when i trim them..LOL
    4) i diy a reactor with some plastic media in my tank, i saw they can help to control ammonia, No2,No3... not sure about the effectiveness..but it works for me though..

mine is low tech so i only dose half of the recommended fert and half of the recomended excel but my plants are still green n healthy to me..there are small java fern roots popping out on the fern's leaves(i thought was snails..LOL)

Yours is high tech and have rich nutrient substrate..mine just inert sand..so less headache..but yours certainly looks a lot nicer to me.. i can only have moss to carpet my driftwoods..LOL but i intend to have less headache from start anyway as i really dunno how to control so many chemical parameters ...

btw, i did have some green string algae during cycling(1 week)..but once i have the oto + sae team...they are history...LOL

Yany, all thanks to your lush green moss...the thai java moss are really hardy and fluffy.. my actual java moss looks thin & weak in my nano...sigh...

btw, do you trim the moss? i heard trimming will help moss to grow??

Bro, My Substrate Is Not Soil >.<" Just Sands (Gravels). That Is Why I Am Very Headache. Hahaha.
Yah, You Might See, Mine Looks Better Than Yours, But Your Plant Is Definitely More Healthy Than Mine.
Yes I Dose Canister Co2/N/P/K/Fe/Excel/Trace/Florish Whole Set. But I Can't Get The Plant To Be As Healthy As Yours.
Algae Indeed Is My Big Problem, Spot Green Algae All Over The Front Glass, Bright Green Algae On My Water Wisteria Too. I Cut Them Out Till My Background Became So Empty, Have To Wait For Them To Grow Again.
Perhaps, Controling Of Light Does Help. Will Try Soon.
In My Tank I Had Already 5 Oto Cat / 2 CAE / 1 SAE As My Cleaning Team. No Shrimps Yet As I Had A Dwarf Puffer In My Tank, I Am Afraid It Will Become The Puffer's Meal. Hehe.
My Java Fern Gives Me Headache Too, With Black Holes On The Leaves. Such An Ugly Sight, Yours Seems So Bright And Clean.
Perhaps I Should Take Some Photos Of The Algae And The Black Holes On The Java Fern Leaf, Post It, And Seek Help From The Bros Here.

Yah, You Might See, Mine Looks Better Than Yours, But Your Plant Is Definitely More Healthy Than Mine. Share some photos..we see what happen to your plants..maybe you can seriously look into the DIY moving bed reactor(k1 media)..hehe i can show you mine but you have to treat me coffee first.. try planting hornwarts may help... if you dun like them, just leave then in a breeeding box floating in the tank, they don't root as they are stem plants..just take them out n clean once in a while or when you want to take picture of your tank...very versatile.
Yes I Dose Canister Co2/N/P/K/Fe/Excel/Trace/Florish Whole Set. But I Can't Get The Plant To Be As Healthy As Yours. WOW,you rich man..i'm poor man..i only use OF fert + excel..low budget..maybe you can try to HALF the dosage for a week or so to see whether they are ok.. maybe too much nutrient which contribute to the algae? i also don't overfed my fish..i just let them finish everything slowly..i'll clean up the leafovers...
Algae Indeed Is My Big Problem, Spot Green Algae All Over The Front Glass, Bright Green Algae On My Water Wisteria Too. I Cut Them Out Till My Background Became So Empty, Have To Wait For Them To Grow Again. Sorry to hear that..
Perhaps, Controling Of Light Does Help. Will Try Soon. This will confirm HELP you.... my small string algae issue was solved due to this... 4 hours for 2 times a day..nothing more...hehe my setting morning 9am-1pm and 7-11.30pm( extra half hour as sometime my itchy hand will go to disturb the plants( Hand not under my control)...LOL
In My Tank I Had Already 5 Oto Cat / 2 CAE / 1 SAE As My Cleaning Team. No Shrimps Yet As I Had A Dwarf Puffer In My Tank, I Am Afraid It Will Become The Puffer's Meal. Hehe. PUFFER? ooh.. cute fish but not good for comunity tank..cleaning crew is sufficient..maybe u want to STARVE them for 1-2 days so they can eat up the algae...i used this method during my string algea time..just 2 days all GONE..Pls don't blame me if you puffer starts eating your OTO or other fishes...
My Java Fern Gives Me Headache Too, With Black Holes On The Leaves. Such An Ugly Sight, Yours Seems So Bright And Clean. My java in my nano also have holes/browning slowly ;really don't know why they have this issue after some time, some say due to high N03?? Some say its normal as old leaves are replaced by new small daugther plants?? maybe some expert in AQ can help..you try to post in the plant section.. i would like to know why too..
Perhaps I Should Take Some Photos Of The Algae And The Black Holes On The Java Fern Leaf, Post It, And Seek Help From The Bros Here.
    Good idea

Btw, is your tank near to the window or door? sunlight can help algae growth too..

Nope Bro, Tank Inside My Dinning Room, No Other Source Of Light Except For My Tank Light And Dinning Room Drop Light Which Wont On Till Dinner Time. Haha.
Dosing Excel Starting From Yesterday Actually, Hope It Really Work. Saw Some Article On Algae Just Now, Was Stating It Might Be Due To Insufficient Co2. Arghh. I Need To Go Adjust The Stupid Co2 Canister Valve Again. I Had Problem With The Valve As It Always Give Inconsistent Bubble Per Second. Buying A Solenoid Is Too Expensive For Me.

Just Bought Sakura Shrimp On Sunday For My Mini Tank In My Room, So Far No Casualties (Tank Fishless Cycled For 1 Week With Seachem Stability) But Ammonia Nitrite Nitrate Is Still Presence. Guess I Had To Continue Dose Seachem Stability Till The Cycle Completes. (Seachem Stability State Can Introduce Fishes Anytime During Process). So I thought I Might As Well Give It A try By Adding Lifestocks. It's 3rd Day For The Shrimp, Hopefully This Evening I Go Back Home The Shrimps Are Still Stable :P

Really Like Your Green Healthy Plant Hahaha, I've Been Saying This For So Many Time. :P
