Acrylic Skim & Lily Pipe Set

Hi,

Saw this Acrylic skim and lily pipe set selling at GC-Shop online. Any opinions on this? Thought of buying since I am too violent for glassware

Saw the skimmer but I would give it a miss. I guess mostly of the time if your tank is quite heavily planted, occasionally there will be left floating around, given the small skimming holes rather then the conventional plastic type it will definitely be clogged up very soon. And for those plastic type if there's any leaf particular getting clog around the plastic area you can just push it down and let the suction suck it in but for the GC type, can it do the same or just for appearance wise. But most of the time everyone put their skimmer at the back corner and camouflage it with the surrounding plant so I would still use back the conventional type.

Thanks. Can hardly find acrylic lily pipes around though... I have bad experience with glass breaking when I try to remove the tubes for cleaning LOL.

dont think there is acrylic lily pipes being sold , usually its diy

Yeah, the only ones I found previously were diy and sold overseas. That is why I'm interested in the set from gc-shop... heck, I'll find time to go check it out one of these days....
