    Hi all,

It's been almost 2 weeks since Aquarama ended... For those who bought plants from Tropica,How are they doing?

I bought 2 pots of Hermianthus Callitricoides...they seems to be growing nicely although a bit slow in spreading.
    ...I love rubies too ...

I bought 2 tubs of HC too. Pearling, can see new roots, but really slow spread. I'm happy if it doesn't "up the lorry".[]

Remove them from the pot. Otherwise the lower stems may start to rot away.

I used a suction cup to stick the pot to the side for a few day, leaves emerge from water, I think Tropica grew most of their plants that way... no problems I learnt this from a forumer here

On the day I bought the plants (Hermianthus callitrichoides & Hydrocolyte sibthorpioides), I took the plant out from the pot, remove the wool and plant them straight. No need to float them.

So far, they are growing fine.

i removed them from the pot after 3days. Separated them into around 15 chunks and planted them deep into the gravel.

Once they grow out of the gravel significantly, i pushed them back down into the gravel, so now they are spreading sidewards just like glosso.

Are you saying your HC is growing like MM, upwards before spreading?

My PP still doing okay, temp 27, pH 6.2, KH 1, 2bubbles per sec and directly under 2x36PL.

Using ADA gravel, power sand and JBL mix.

    Fert: Bacter 100 , ECA, phyton git, Seachem K,Fe,trace, Dennerle Gold 7 4tabs every 2weeks, E15 4tabs every 2weeks.

Lighting period 10-12 hrs on timer.

    WC every 2weeks. 25%

They don't do very well in emerse form, more difficult to cultivate emerse. Submerse is much much easier.

HC cultivated emerse, growth like Glossostigma. basically easy.

    Ludwigia: no problems.

HC: Will be doing it submerse any tips?
    Cheers!

Wah Ben, you really put alot of good stuff for your plants...

For my PP, I oni put seachem Iron and TMG. No budget for any other good stuff lah... Temp about 26 ++ PH about 5.5 or less. Lighting 5 hours with MH lighting.

I think for the HC, should not be any problem since you use so much good stuff... just that as per all plants, you need high light to get it to crawl lor...

Those fert actually not really suitable for cryptos. I'm getting the Iron stick soon.Sigh.

    Point noted Gchoo.

PP growth like other stem plant maybe slightly more demanding but i don't see why Chris ones will melt away.

Is there any similar stuff we use for the PP Gchoo that might be the problem Chris is facing?
    Cheers!

Chris, can tell what parameters you have?
From my experience of this plant, (I got this plant 1 1/2 years back [] ) high trace is definatly required to ensure that it doesnt melt. Temp is not really a problem as long as you can pay more attention to the water parameters... I've grown it at 30 degrees before... [] Only moderate lighting is required...

I really don't see how traces can make so much of a difference unless chris is really underdosing. Lack of CO2 and macros are more likely the cause of the melt down though.

When a plant melts away very fast, it might be not enough light to produce enough energy to meet the metabolism. This happens when the temperature is close to the upper limit. You got to supply more light/CO2 in order for it to meet the energy need. In the case of Proserpinaca palustris, if you are keeping it at 27-28°C range, you got to give it pretty high lighting.
