Re: DYMAX Cooling fan WINDY W-4

Hi bro, have bought & used this model b4... My advice, don't run it 24/7 as I did it previously, adapter also felt very hot until 1 day the unit died on me (guessed the motor burnt...) Currently using W-7 (smaller fan) but link it to my timer set for my lightset (running 8 hrs a day, 4 hrs in the morning, 4 hrs in the evening) and find the adapter not so hot nowadays...

    Hope it helps...

Is that an AC/DC adaptor? Some of these adaptors can get scalding hot. My Linksys router's adaptor is such example. Didn't fail in the last few years of operation though...

I suppose it is normal to be hot. If you are disturbed by the heat, try getting a 3rd party adaptor with better rating that fits into the same socket? For eg: current adaptor is 12V 500mA, get one that is 12V 1A might help.

i called with the shop(seaview)... the warranty is only 1 week... just like gardenia... they say manufaturer did not give any warranty, the warranty was given by seaview themselves..so only 1 week...

Try a new adaptor? Bring it to SLT to test it will be good. If you got a multimeter you can troubleshoot if it's the adaptor that died. Fans seldom stop working on it's own...
