The co2 will dissolve better if fed into inlet however it will also cause air to be trapped in the filter. Livestock will only be affected if co2 level is too high. Use a drop checker to be sure.

I did that once, filter clogged up. What Tom Barr used to suggest in the past was having a modified powerhead with the CO2 tubing inserted near the impeller and placing it in your tank. Another option is to buy one of those high pressure in-line diffusers (I'm using one).
it is not advisable to inject co2 into your canister. it may cause air-lock.
if there is no consequence, most canister maker will advertise this 'feature'.

I had been doing that too... So what's the best way to distribute the co2 evenly into the tank??? Where to place the co2 diffuser???

Breeding Apisto inca and Apisto guttata...
I've used the Atman 3335 and the Atman CF800. But they clogged up because the CO2 wasn't dissolving fast enough, therefore it's not advisable to follow me.
Why don't you try the Tom Barr method I mentioned a few posts back? Although I haven't tried it personally, but it will be what I'll do if I had a 3ft or bigger tank.
Personally all I've had were 2ft tanks, and I use diffusors placed near the outlet. The bubbles spray all over the tank and maximise their exposure.

my set-up is a 30 cm cube , as i dont intend to use chiller ,only fan , i think a small powerhead will have heat issues too .
is tom barr method a co2 reactor ?
I used to inject into the canister to maximize the co2 diffusion, but it caused burping / air-locked my filter, so now im using inline-diffuser instead. I would recommend it if you want to fully / almost fully dissolve the co2 injected into the tank.
What is online diffuser ? Can show the photo? I always use injury co2 to diffuser n riccia will pearl.
i tested it on the shiruba canister just sucking partial c02 from the normal diffuser , c02 does accumulate inside and there is intermittent large release of small co2 gas , no airlocks so far , i will just stick to this method first maybe next time get a inline diffuser , thanks for the feedback guys
Why take the risk? The motor compartment might heat up as no new water is flowing in to lubricate that area. The water temperature in the canister might rise that the beneficial bacteria might perish. When you try to rectify the situation, you might introduce a toxic soup into your tank. Depending on your luck, you might get away scot free or all your live stock will not survive. You might catch the air lock as it happens or worst it happen when you leave for school or work. Murphy law will catch up to you sooner than later.
