    my first post here...

it started when i bought a water fountain for my balcony.. it comes with a black fibreglass square container... about 2ft x 2 ft x 0.8 ft.

and then.. visited mainland fish farm.. bought a couple of fish and goldfish. let it swim in my fountain tank.

currently for water filtering, bought eden 501 filter but they water quality seems slightly yellowish.. been 1 mth already.

bought ammonia treatment liquid from C328 but seems to have no change.

So what could be the problem? Filter not strong enough? need additional filter media?

made a mistake of not doing research here before buying fish..

Hi are you using and substrate media or driftwood? Yellow usually comes from the substrate and driftwood.

morning guys.. yeah looks like the eden 501 will be weak. I dont have driftwood or substrate.

aside from ehiem, what other canister filters are good and on the budget side? Jebo, Atman?

take a scoop of water with a clear bottle . it can be greenish yellow cloudy , green water algae
as you said it at balcony, exposed to sunlight

otherwise can be just water from poor filtration , water turns dirty from the waste of goldfish

and maybe try purigen or active carbon to remove any dissolved organics
