    Hi all,

    Need advise.
I have recently bought a 2nd hand tank from another fish frantic, who also hand me some aquarium soil, I am thinking of doing some aquarium planting, therefore I accepted it from him.

Now when I am preparing the soil, I find that the water is very muddy (Brown color). This is due to the soil dissolving in the water I guess. Can anyone advise me what can I do to effectively deploy the soil into the water again?

Right now the water is muddy and I have already left it for more than 3 hours to "settle". Doesn't look good though.

Cycle the tank a day or more for the water to be clear. Have you place the soil already with water ?

    Hi,

Yah, the soil is in the water already.

It'll take about half a day to a day (depends on the tank size and filter flowrate) for the murkiness to settle & the water to turn clear... Try not to stir the soil to much while planting your plants, it'll be fine...
