It is not necessary to restart the tank. It depends on the scape and plants that you are going after.

You cannot improve CO2 distribution without knowing the CO2 level. It might be your CO2 is good but you are just in the dark.

Oh haha the bubbles are from the airstone which I turn on at night. I took the photo just before going to bed so the airstone was already on. If u look really closely there is a tubing coming down from the left side that is the diffuser.

The big grey thingy is the powerhead inside the tank hahaha! Appreciate all the comments to help me improve my planted tank. Suddenly fish seem so much easier hahahaha!

Hi guys I went to check my light tubes are all 18watts.. Curious though can I buy more powerful tubes and put them in the same lighting bracket? Is there a difference? For example i get a 50watt T8 tube will in work with mt light fixture? My older single T4 tube already 55 watts!!

    Re: New Plants yellowing

i think the temperature is wrong as some of the plant needs to be kept at around 23 - 25 degree and the light must be available for around 8 hours.

You can't. Normally bigger wattage will have longer tube. It is also depend on ballast, some ballast may not support higher wattage.

Now I have a question about lighting is watts r lumens more important? So i guess my light isn't that great if its only 3 pieces of 18watt T8 tubes.. Cheaper sngle bulb light fixtures can have a 50watt output already

None . Technically you need to look t PAR (Photosynthetically active radiation). However, PAR was never stated on the light bulb and need expensive equipment to measure it. Lumens and watt pretty much the same because nowadays most of light bulb brand have similar lumens/watt. It is not perfect but will do.

    Re: New Plants yellowing

That is correct which is can't be help. All stem plant will show the same. That is why in Aquascaping you will normally put rocks, wood or smaller plant in front of stem plants to hide it

    Re: New Plants yellowing

Thanks for all the tips so i guess all i have to do now is wait and see right? As predicted my plants and the back are like slowly dying off hope that everything will rebound and be healthy after this season!

The actions I have taken is to turn on all 3 18watt lights. I have mixed some fine sand with the substrate hoping the roots will hold slightly better. Will let you guys now how things are going over the next few days. One of my tigerbarbs died though may it R.I.P.

you need to address your CO2; do you have it sufficient for your plant during photosynthesis period?
