    hi all, i've been keeping toninas for sometime now and have observed that they do grow very week roots as how budak have described in a post. is there any way to rectify this?

    roots..as in..the stuff below the stems..u noe..the stuff that looks stringy? juz joking..anyway...i tink bro mandz feels that tonina roots are weak and not able to grip the gravels and support themself well.unlike some like lotus have such monster roots.

    yes thats right bluezing, my toninas are growing pretty ok but i've realized that they don't hold the gravel well... a weak tug at them and they'll dislodge from the gravel...

    If you grow them in aquasoil or similar, you will find that the roots will be more than what you ask for...[]

    just unroot them today for harvesting.hmm...not too bad...quite alot of roots...but are those weak one..string like.hehe...

    perharps it has something to do with light penetration. I usually spilt them up so light can reach the bottom

    hmm....yah..mostlikely thats the reason.and usally their lower stem is weak also.turns brownish.
