better not
crush them by hand, easier
Ah yes snails, when i started this hobby those snail like the cone shape ones are the baddies. Now not sure. Last week I happen to switch on my heavily planted tank ard midnight. That time the tank already lights out 2hrs earlier. To my horror more than a hundred snails of the cone-shaped n spiral types are having a fiesta. Quickly I siphon out 90% of them b4 they got away.Noticed they ran into the gravel. My tank is 70% hairgrass with taller stem plants at the back. Never notice these snails for past 6 mths.Did again the next night ard same time with more than 100 of them removed.2 dys later notice hair algae growing on my hg and start to wonder whether my actions removing those snails are correct. Now not sure what to do............anyway b4 this my plants are growing healthy.
ahh, setiardi, you removed the malaysian trumpet snails ah
those are supposed to be good for the substrate
that is the malayan trumpet snail.. much better than the norm kind u usually find in the tank.. the burrowing is said to do good for yr gravel
Thanks guys, no more disturb those snails. I going to let them party all night from now on!
