Something laid eggs on my crypt last night. Just cleaned and planted the crypts (with bleach) yesterday, so it can't be anything foreign from the LFS. Can anyone recognise what these eggs are? Should I be happy or worried?

    Lifestock in the tank include:
    - Cherry shrimp
    - Yamato shrimp
    - oto
    - neon tetra
    - harlequin rasbora
    - leopard cory

    Hi,

1st question, is there any fish seems to be guarding the area ? Though its difficlt to see the size, the placement of the eggs seems to be of tetras.

My Cardinals breed under the leaves, and they guard them. See if you could ID similair behaviour in your tank ?

    Cheers

No fish patroling the area. Eggs are laid on both sides of leaf. My tetras are barely 3-4 months old. Is that breeding age? I have removed the leaf and kept it separate for now as I fear the other lifestock might eat the eggs. Good move?

I've updated with slightly closer pics.

Most likely to be cory eggs....I had plenty before but had no time or space to hatch the eggs though.

Looks like cory eggs to me... found this other pic in another forum.

What do you guys think? I've removed the leaf with the eggs and placed it in a container that floats in my tank and stuffed the container with some java moss and other plants. This should provide some water current and protect the eggs. Will update again if anything else happens. Thanks!

If your tetras are 3-4months old then it couldn't be. Have not seen any cory eggs before, thus other brothers here could advise better..

The last time when my trilineatus corys breed the eggs clusters are scattered all over the tank.
Normally about 2 to 6 in a cluster.

It maybe just my Corys. [:]
