New to the Forum...

Hi all, I was trawling the interweb and came across you guys and thought Id join in the fun. Im a hobbyist Malawi and Shrimp keeper/breeder based in Portsmouth, UK - I have a fish-house with approx 30 tanks, mainly shrimp of varying species. I also have a 8x2x2 foot Malawi display tank indoors which is my pride and joy. Ive kept and bred most species of freshwater tropical fish over the last 40 odd years and I sell my successes to cover my fish-house running costs. Im a member of Portsmouth Aquarist Society, currently enjoying our 60th Anniversary year.

Welcome to AQ. You have 30 tanks? Wow.... that would require quite a fair bit of space to house them. How about posting some pictures of your pride and joy?

Hi all, thanks for the greetings. Yep im a busy boy, my fish-house which measures 17 foot by 7 foot used to be Malawi tanks only and centrally driven by one sump, constantly transferring fish around for breeding and fry rearing was a realy headache and I started to feel pressured by it - the last thing you want for an enjoyable hobby - so I transferred the Malawi's to the 8 footer indoors and re-vamped my fish house for shrimp breeding running on AIR. Much less time needed to care for them now and in fact my tanks have now risen to 38 following a further revamp last weekend...!!!

Hi, very nice tank. Do you have to switch on the heater 24/7 since you are from UK?
