    Hi All,

I want to ask what is the best way to get rid of green cloudy water in my tank? I managed to get rid of it the first time it appeared. Applying the 15-20% water change daily. Now its blooming again and it kinda out of control now? Any advice please! Thanks.

    -tank 60x30x30cm
    -lighting 24watts x 4 (for 6 hours)
-co2 1-2bps but currently tank is empty
    -Not heavily planted
    -35 cardinal
    -5 oto
    -3 SAE
    - some 10 yamato shrimps

you have too much light, too much bio load and CO2 tank empty. Just the right combination for green water

Reduce your light to 1x24W tube until you refill your CO2. 2x24W is normally enough for tank your size unless you know what you are doing. What plant that you have? Fast growing plant will help but since no CO2 it will be pointless. Add floating plant since it take CO2 from air.

Actually there's a new product that has been on sale lately, but still in research, try to use Nano silver Ag+, i have try it in my tank, you just have to add 1 cc of nano silver everyday at night, it will kill all the microalgae inside your tank. The result is amazing and it doesn't effect my other water plant, shrimp or fish, it's one and only disadvantages is the price is not cheap, but you can use it like forever. They dont sell small bottle.

Re: Help! Water turning green in my tank!

    Hi guys,

I just want to update you about the total black out testing I did for 4 days. It worked!. Thanks bro humble for the site you gave me.

Anyway, I did 50% water change before the 4 days black out. The water is very clear. The only thing is that some of my HC has turned brown.

Now, my co2 is up. @bps.

    I have a question again:

    1. I don't have an option to reduce my bioload, I only got one tank. Should I just feed them every other day or two?
    2. Bro. Shadow, If I use 2x24 for my lighting, Is it ok for my hc? I'm afraid it will grow tall instead of spreading?

By the way the temp hovers from 28-32deg. Depending on the weather.

Thanks again for your help guys!

That is the side effect of black out , some plant may not be able to take it. You might need to replant your hc.

I grow hc with 36w pl light before, so 2x24W should be ok. Note that I was using new light tube at that time.

32c is quite hight, do use fan to lower it down?

I'll try to lower my lighting and see what happens. Also I started adding some fertilizer (JBL ferrosol) because my java moss is not growing well, so the uncle @ bioplast suggested it to me. I'll test it for 2 weeks. I'll put 10 drops every 3 days. Hope it works. Any comment on this Idea?
