how to convert a marine chiller to a fresh water chiller

please help to advise on how to clean / flash a used marine chiller and use it for a fresh water fish tank for crs.

I just wash out the sand in the marine chiller's compartment (it was VERY VERY sandy for mine so took a couple of washes in either direction including placing the chiller upside down to drain the sand) and I pretty much plug it into my tank after washing away the sand. I have cherry and tiger shrimps with tetras.
