    Why are my rocks turning red?

    I bought some Kurokinryu Stones and placed them in my shrimp/snail tank.
    After 1 month I noticed the surface is turning red and the other is turning green.

    I guess green is probably algae, but why red?

    Has any veterans experienced this before?

    Ignoring the discoloration...actually looks pretty natural! =D

    natural occurance? due to iron content in the stones?? looks good and natural...

    Or BBA can't see clearly on the photo. Does it like a short brush when you see closely?

    I thought that these kind of stones are supposed to be inert? One of my nitrite snail just died, hope it's not due to the red stuff...

    Is this bacteria bad for the tank?
