I've only owned acrylic tanks so far so please pardon my ignorance. Are those 5-6mm glass strong enough to withstand abuse? I'm just worry of my son breaking it & hurting himself or the live stocks while i'm away. Anyone with small children care to give advice? Thanks!
What tank size are you looking at?

My son never hits my fish tanks. The most is stick his finger in. You need to teach your son that fish tanks are for looking and not for playing. Every time you catch him doing something to it other than looking then scold him and punish him (time out or whatever method you normally use). After a while he will get the message.
On a side note. My son is very much afraid of lobsters and crayfish. Last time when I was keeping crayfish, he did not even dare to go near the tank!! LOL
More than ONE fish = Fish
More than ONE species of fish = Fishes
ahah..cute.. maybe just place it higher up so that they can't reach it( i.e get a stand).
and that video is very funny..i was like then
Aspiring to be.
Lol, guess i'll try the snail trick next time. Thanks for the feedback, bros
I keep plecos... my daughter doesn't bother with the tank. Because plecos seldom move.... so very boring for her.
Perhaps you can cordon off the tank with those indoor toddler fence? Along with a little nudge and reprimand each time he hits his toys on the tank, that ought to get the message across, like what hardric has mentioned.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
I have 2 sons, 4 and 2 years old. I also have 2 tank 3ft and 2ft. My youngest son always like to knock the glass with palm to scare the fish. So far both tanks are OK. I guess they don't have the strength to break the glass with bare hand. Just make sure they don't start to use toys to knock the glass.
Easiest solution, custom make tank with tempered glass...
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
i have 3 kids, 9, 6 and 4. Only my second son, the 6 year old like to smack the glass to show me how the fishes react....
After scolding/explaining upteen times, he finally stop. Good thing too as he is a "BIG" boy.... strong as well. Other than scaring the fishes a few times, no harm done
Thanks everyone for your advice & tips. Will take note of those.
