Welcome to AQ Patrick!![]()
Hi Everyone,
My name is Patrick. I am sure many of us here started keeping aquarium fishes when we are young. In the past, i always kept the fish half way and then gave up on them and changed to another new pet. Turtles were my first pet and then slowly went to small fishes. At that age, i dont know what is the importance of a filter and water change, i only love to watch them eat and fed them like nobody business. And i think because of this, none of my aquarium pets in my primary school time survived. UhUh!
I remember once my mum brought back 2 louhan (flowerhorn) back to keep in a 2feet tank, pretty amazed by their big bumpy head and their appetite. I continue feeding them up to 10 cubes of frozen bloodworms per day. They grown fat but shortly after a few months they died. Little waterchange was done to keep the fish in a clean environment because at that time we thought a overhead filter is adequate enough. If i didt remember wrongly, i think the fishes died with some kind of infection in its stomach.
Now as a grown up man, i gained many knowledge of keeping a healthy by researching on the net and participate in forum discussion. I am quite impressed with how aquatic hobbies have now became a very popular activities. In the past, there were all those old fashioned filter to sustain a fish, but now with all the high technology, all kinds of filter can be found and coming in to purify the water. It makes our pet much more water lasting in our tank!
Currently, i am running a 3 feet low tech planted tank with small and big fishes. My current favourite collection of species are angelfish (Peruvian, manacapuru and altum). I also love catfish alot, currently have a Irwini megalodaras, corys and a pair of pictus catfish.
Please guide me and have a happy fish keeping together! =)
Thank you![]()
