His were Hakata Prls. A line in Japan.
if you want red legs, just use shrimps with redder legs to breed. lol

Hi bro's
Yesterday i saw a vid on youtube from lucanus23.
Omg what a beauties. The whiteness is so deep and also the redness.
But the legs are also intensed red.
How do you breed the red legs? Is it selecting the red legs and let them breed?
Mike
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

So it s just that simple?
If you start with 1 group of hakata prl lets say 20 pieces.
The offspring you select on your focus points like red or white legs etc.
How many tanks do you use then?
What about mixing up some lines for stronger genes?
Do you search another hakata group to mix in or just another line like assa?
(thinking about setting more tanks thats why)

.
err, typing is normally more simple than doing it. hehehe
either you use culling method or selective pair breeding method to achieve your aim.
the numbers of tanks will depends on yourself. HKT is known to hold lesser eggs, it might take quite some time to get a breeding population.

From my trials, the red legs do not form when they are young, e.g. less than 1-1.2cm. The whites get thicker with nice reds when they are above 1.2cm. That's when the legs also start to get redder, if one is lucky, though not intense red.
Intense red legs and white legs are quite obvious when they are young but very very few are produced, less than the chance of producing mosuras, with this quality, (only got 2 from 4 broods). By the time the shrimps are about 1cm, they should become obvious to the naked eyes.
Just sharing from my own tanks, and may or may not be true for others.

Old man like me, when I cant see the legs, I know it has deep red legs...![]()

Haha when old man say its true its true
So actually its not that easy to select the red legs out of the group.
What about mixing up some lines to stronger your group.
I read a lot of weakness in prl and hkt line is known for lesser eggs.
Would you mix up some groups from the same lineage or would you mix in another line?
I like this discussion.
I saw another thread with all lineage.
What are the significant differences between the lines?
Lets say hkt and crimson?
