Good evening to you, if you are refering to normal species such as cacatuoide, agassisi etc, they should be easily available from Clementi C328.

However if you wish to own other uncommon species you can give JXZ a try. located at Ang Mo Kio central.

Now and then you can search the buy and sell thread for sales too

AquaOne at pasir ris farmway also good for apistos!
...people ask why I eat fish even though i'm such an avid fish keeper... Bottom line is that I've been eating fish a lot longer than I've been keeping them...

Re: Need Help: Where to get Apisto in Singapore

thanks guys, appreciate the quick response..
I have been to aquaone and do agree that their apisto are of good quality.. however, i am looking for rarer breed like elizabethae, diplotaenia, breitbiden etc.
I know also that there are some forum members selling apisto. perhaps i should re-phrase my question; Which LFS in Singapore brings in rarer breed of apisto? i rather have a look at the fish and access before committing than to pay up a high price not knowing if the fish i am getting is good. Been away from the apisto scene for some time and realise that the LFS that i frequent have either close down or stop bringing in apisto. so if any kind soul out there willing to point me in the right direction, your help rendered is greatly appreciated..
    Thanks

yup i saw that post Don.. Thanks for the reply though.. Still thinking about it. Just a little hesitant about due past bad experience with other supplier. They either turn out the wrong fish or not the condition i would like them to be.( Just to be more crystal clear, i had not dealt with any supplier for AQ and I am not referring to any of them). I think i would only order for wild caught apisto. Well with the ban of most apisto in SA, not likely any supplier would be willing to bring in allowed wild caught ones. By the way, since we are on this topic, do you happen to know any supplier willing to bring in wild caught apisto?? would really be interested in that.

Try asking the fish shop at JZX, find Lianho or Yong, they should be able to help you in your quest. They do bring in rare WC apisto now and then. Let them know the speices you are keen.

Re: Need Help: Where to get Apisto in Singapore

That is the risk one got to take from ordering oversea.

I have gotten several wild apisto from oversea from friends, LFS and people in the forum.

I have good experience (fish is healthy) and bad experience (DOA upon arrival).

If you are unable to take such risk, then stick to those that are available in Singapore.

As of now, JXZ's apisto quality are quite good and price is reasonable.

On why LFS don't bring in quality, rare or wild caught apisto, the reason as follows:

    1. The market in Singapore is too small.
    2. Buyers are bargain hunter.
    - want nice, rare or wild fish but press down the price
-fish not nice don't buy. What do you expect the LFS to do, they order from their oversea supplier and they don't have a chance to choose. If buyer see not nice and don't buy, they are stuck with it.
    - "Aeroplane" buyers.

With such issue, if you were an LFS owner would you want to take such risk where the odds are against them.

    Cheers.

    I have no idea.

In the past there was Joe, that man is the best person I have bought from. He hand carried apistos from taiwan. And most of the time the apistos are wild caught.

Now your best bet would be apistoworld if you want wild fishes. Don't know of an suppliers that carry wild caught apistos these days.
