I'm currently using AquaZonic Led lighting for my tank.
After the first week, i notice the brightness when down a little...
Currently the light is on for 7 hours daily by a timer.

Has anyone experience this when using LED light?

    Many thanks....

I used to have one, lights dimmed then refuse to light up after 1 week , might be a defect ,probably could monitor for awhile and see how it goes

Is your light panel coming loose? When you tap on the housing, does your light flicker?

    Re: LED Light

Are the LED lights cool to touch after a long time of usage? I never dare to switch on my T5 lights too long as they tend to heat up quite a lot and thus causing the aquqrium to heat up too. With our kind of weather, doing that would stress the fish.

    Re: LED Light

led bulbs generate little heat or no heat at all.. its the components inside the casing thats heated up a little but for those low wattage led light set shouldn't have any heat issues

    Re: LED Light

LED does not emit IR so they do not heat up the aquarium. other lightings, T5, T9, PL, MH, ..., do emit IR.

heat is emitted by LED. however, this heat is radiated in the opposite direction; from the back. this is why high power LED need heat sinks to operate.

the light intensity do degrade a couple of percent during the first 1000 hour of operation. then the degradation will continue but at a much slower pace.

    Re: LED Light

Might not be relevant but make sure you're not running those LED lights off those 3-way multi plugs that's cheapo. Seems that LED lights are sensitive to unstable amperage and some of those multi plugs cannot handle the full 13 amps from our wall socket and some is wasted as heat.
I had flickering LEDs and when i traced, I found that the multiplug is actually warm and after changing it to a proper extension, the LED is stable again. If possible, don't run the LED on the same line as chillers
