    Hi,

I just bought 5pcs of the vampire crab from a friend few days ago...

    Here's my tank spec -
    - 60x35x40cm tank with 50:50 ratio land and water
    - eheim 2215 with SubstratePro and 1 x Jaqno pre filter
    - used Benibachi soil from my past crs tank.
    - 2 x kw 24pcs led light ( 1 on the land side and 1 on the water side )
    - 2 x Otto
    - 2 x zebra catfish
    - Staurogyne sp
    - Anubias Barteri Var Nana 'Petite'
    - Java Moss

I currently feed them with Hikari frozen blood worms mix with Hikari frozen brain shrimp once a day...

But I notice that they like blood worms more than brain shrimp coz they always finish the blood worms and left over the brain shrimp...

Can I feed them shrimp food like Mosura Excel, Specialty Food, BW Color, Grow and Spinach?

I saw from some hk forum say that the Vampire crab need some calcium to harden the shell so I mix some exo terra calcium powder with blood worms twice a week and Mosura Gravidas once a week for them to easy molting....( I don't know whether it's correct or not )

Do anyone one know when the vampire crab going to molt?

Will try to upload some pic soon...

    Thank You!

Yes, you can feed them shrimp food, no problem

As for molting, when they are molting you can see that at the back of the crab the upper shell and lower shell of the crab is slightly detached.

Lastly, your tank has both red apple crabs (metasesarma aubryi) and vampire crabs (geosesarma sp.), not advisable to keep these two together.

Red apple crab may attack the vampire crab since the apple crab is bigger than it. Especially when fighting for territory the injuries on the vampire may be quite serious when confronted by the larger apple crab.

You can provide some hiding places like some coconut shells or dried leaves.

The pipe structure in the water should be placed on land as these crabs are more of land crabs.
