    Hi,

I would like to find out any obvious physical difference between the above species of fishes. Apart from the 'wider' dorsal analogy which to my untrained eye, looks pretty much the same.

    warmest regards
    John

    Re: Burdigala vs. Uberis

From my limited experience, I believe uberis have the lateral spot similar to brownorum/coccina while burdigalas dont.
Perhaps the more experienced Betta keepers here can help you out a little more! : )
    Cheers,

B.uberis have a greenish sheen when coloured up ,B.burdigala don't. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

    Re: Burdigala vs. Uberis

Yes. I noticed that on my fish as well. burdigala seems to lack the green sheen though it has green irids.

    Re: Burdigala vs. Uberis

Yes I do. Most of the coccina complex members can be kept together without problem. Kind Of peaceful.

    Re: Burdigala vs. Uberis

You need to be a member for at least 30 days from the day you registered and at least 10 or more posts before you acquire the right to be able to PM fellow members. At the end of November you will acquire this right.

    On the topic:

Burdigala males have bright green sides when colored up where as uberis do not, both have a large dorsal fin. Females tend to be a bland red with egg tube.
As mentioned on the IBC page for Betta uberis:
