Yes, you can keep a few angelfish, maybe 3, preferably those that are not so 'tall'. Most medium size fishes can live in your tank, or you can keep a shoal of small fishes.

If you are going to keep angel fish, stick with maximum 3-4 pieces. In a tank of your size, stick to maximum 2-3 species.

You can consider honey gouramis/ drawf gouramis, tetras, swordtails, rams.

Keep some simple plants (sword plant / stem plants ) so the fish have some hiding places.
5 feet planted discus tank, turquoise, melon, leopard, blue diamond. Two 1 feet Shrimp tanks with FRS & CRS.

Obviously the ram, tetras will not start biting each others eyes out, and there is no reason the eyes will drop ut for no reason right?

Getting new fish, its best to consider their adult size and your tank dimension and decide ,afterall you wouldnt want to have the fish to have stunted growth later on

Best is do a low tech planted with java fern, nana, crypt, moss etc... Than keep schooling fish just for relax viewing is the best... Bare tAnk maybe you can keep discus only than shall do the job but discus need many care...

If you don't mind keeping just one fish, i suggest a Dward Snakehead. They don't get bigger than 12" in the wild and hardly ever reach 8" in captivity. They're hardy, colorful, interesting and have an aggressive streak about them. If that's something that interests you, try looking for Channa Bleheri aka Rainbow Snakehad, Channa Pulchra and Channa Gachua. But don't keep two unless you're absolutely certain they're a couple because they will definitely fight till' one is dead or dying.

Re: Fishes to rare in a 20G tank

Elephant Nose is fish for the experts, lol.

They are nocturnal and must be feed at night when all lights out, help if you have moonlight led installed to do feeding.
Also better to keep as a species tank or with slow feeding competitor like discus etc.
Only eat live food like frozen bloodworms etc. Prefer lots of cave or hiding place and very shy.
The electrical charges is minor so no worries, over the net there has been reported put microphone probe into the tank, you can hear sounds they emit when they excited.

The only problem is the feeding, if there is no problem in feeding, everything should be fine. But warning, they can starve themself to death. And water condition must be perfect.

Some countries use this fish to guage the water purity in their tank so you can imagine how picky the fish are when water condition is concerned.
