Maybe you can invest in a hang on filter/small canister?
5 feet planted discus tank, turquoise, melon, leopard, blue diamond. Two 1 feet Shrimp tanks with FRS & CRS.
Its running on a eden 501 now. Dunno if i should removed air driven filter. Eden running with full compartment of mr aqua cr. Temp of tank at 25 degree. 24hrs air con. Hehe.
Bottom with a layer of sudo sand. Thinking of keeping cories. But tank temp, good to keep crs!
Try to hide the underwater filter :P
For such a small tank the Eden 501(good choice) should be sufficient i believe. without the air driven filter you'll be able to free up more space and improve the aesthetics of your nice neat layout.
How much you bought the eden 501?
How small is the tank?
I think the plant is slightly too big? I also agree to give out the submerged filter as you have the canister one , thus got more space for deco/plants
they dont need super much dissolve oxygen.. my friend have only HOF waterfall for tetra, danio, boraras.
The light sand is nice.. maybe compliment with dark DW/rock and dark green plants .. like nana..etc for a contrast.
have fun!
