Hi, need more fish ID help here…

Got this liquorice gorami from Biotope couple of weeks back, purported to be Parosphromenus allani, however on comparing the tail coloration and pattern it doesn't look like an allani (Asiatic Labyrinth fish by Linke), does any one know what species this should be? this particular specimen has a kink in the dorsal fin.

(go to imagestation for the BIG pic)

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

no, have already a pair of Jambi, the tail doesn't have spots. although my jambis were also from biotope and hence could be possible that they're not the real jambis but I think I have checked elsewhere on the net, appears the jambis are correctly identified. Here's a not so sharp pic… and right-click and save courtship video.

Parosphromenus sp. 'Jambi' male / female
