Ah yes, the ever-popular lily pipes (& violet pipes, & poppy glass, etc)...but in this case, I'm specifically looking for rainbars to use with an Eheim 2224. This is also the reason why I believe I can't use the glass sets from BorneoWild, i.e. their 13mm glass pipes is slightly bigger than the 2224's 12mm pipes. Otherwise, I will say BorneoWild's glass pipes are a good fit for what I want, except that they dun do rainbars too...
FYI, all pipings(hard) are 1 mm bigger in diameter than the hose. this is to ensure tightening fit to the ehiem 12/16 piping.
They are designed to go with ehiem's piping tubes.
eg. 13mm lily pipe to 12/16 ehiem tubes
17mm lily pipe to 16/22 ehiem tubes.
keep in mind that the 16 and 22 indicated the exterior diameter of the ehiem piping.
For Glass rainbars, i have not seen any brand that is selling them, i think the reason might be that they are difficult to make in the 1st place. (eg. making small holes into glass)
Secondly, the presence of lily pipes are mainly due to the demand in usage in nice planted tanks, (otherwise raring livestocks or whatsoever doesnt require much on appearance)
the planted tank keeper do not want rainbars simply because rainbar reduces the flowrate compared to lily pipes and furthermore they do not prefer the installation of rainbar to exhaust their co2 ejection. (as rainbars tend to be used abit higher than the actual water level)
If you are looking for transparent rainbars, there are always plastic/acrylic rainbars to choose from. they are being sold in nearly every LFS such as c328, y618, seaview etc. you might want to take a closer look(they are often just being dumped somewhere).
