Any Pictures of the Full Tank Shot, so that we can advise better?
Hi,
I have a 2ft low-end brackish water tank setup for my juvenile green spotted puffer.
I put some plants (I do not know the name); they survive the brackish condition, but brown algae is growing on the leaves.
What is the most effective way of getting rid of them?
So far, I have tried gently wiping the leaves using cottons. It helps a little bit.
Thank you vey much.

Apologies for late reply. This is a shot taken just now:

The tanks was initially a freshwater tank that I gradually set to low end brackish. Afterwards I added crushed coral sands (I didn't know before that it will mess up with the plant gravel like this)? Could the plant gravel become nutrient provider for algae?
Every week I have to clean the algae including wiping the plant leaves gently manually.

Solasido, the fern you have on the driftwood looks like a terrestrial species. It's hard to keep the algae down since the puffers will kill any Oto or shrimps put in to combat the algae. Probably the easiest way is to use hornwort since they are excellent at soaking up excess nutrients.
I think the growth of algae in your tank is caused by the protein rich diet of the puffers that you keep.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
I see, thanks a lot, bro. Let me try with hornwort.
