Hi..it could have bumped itself and injured its own mouth. Try to monitor it for few more days. It should heal back on its own. provide clean water for your discus.

    Hi Guys,

I just bought 3 checkerboard discus (2" to 2.5") 2 weeks ago and the smallest fish is
not eating much. I notice that it has internal red mouth since day 1 (see attached picture). I treat the tank with Anti-External Parasites but no improvement after 3 days.

Don't know what happened to the discus, can anyone help?

    Thanks!
It should be because they peck on frozen food. You can try to thaw their frozen food(frozen beef heart or frozen blood worms) before giving to them.

    Hi vtengls,

Your fish color nice. Pegeon discus correct? PM me where u hot them. The red patch maybe due to two males discus
    fighting.

    Thanks guys!
I'm feeding them with frozen blood worms once a day & the rest with sinking pellet.

I bought these checkerboard pegeon from Nanyang Trading Aquarium Pte Ltd @2, Seletar West Farmway 2 for $18 (see attached photo) each. Nanyang offering very competitive price; 10% discount on fish & 15% discount on accessories. I just bought the EHIEM Classic 2211 filter for $85.

    Re: Discus help

Discus is kind of shy when in new tank, they will tend to hide or stay in one comer, but around 1 to 2 week it will be fine. You can try to feed blood worm by hand. By feeding blood worm will pollute water. So u must do water change regular because discus need to have fresh water.
And do Not knock on the tank it will frighten them and discus color will fate.

I bought mine LSS/ SS at C328. but now not much variety of discus at c328. i want around 3 inches discus. Anyway which LFS that you bought your discus?

    Re: Discus help

Now a day, value for money discuss fish is hard to get. Clementi c328 mainly good for accessories. That Aquarium at Blk 618 Yishun Ring Road, #01-3236, Singapore, 760618 some times has good value discus fish.
By the way, what is LFS?

Bro, what are size and the prices for the big discus?
Fish keeping is not a good hobby unless you received support from your family to keep them.

    Re: Discus help

If one had experience in rearing and breeding discus, it is best to buy the best specimens (most expensive).

But for learning and gaining experience, one should start with $10 or cheaper discus first, to avoid expensive loss.

Sorry for the late reply. Blk 681 normally carrying 2" to 3" Spotted or pigeon discus price between S$20 to S$40. For me, their pricing is quite reasonable.

    Re: Discus help

Discus need a school of at least 6 pieces to feel comfortable, previously my discus also have the same red nose but over time it recovers itself.
