There are quite a few chillers that may suit your tank requirments but probably not your budget. I'm not sure but the smallest you can go would be 1/4 hp chiller according to Teco chillers load chart. From what I know, Hailea 1/4 hp chiller (China) already cost around $1K. You may want to consider 2nd hand.
    Cheers!!

    Hi,
For 250 litres volume you can consider using RESUN CL-280 (1/10 Hp,max cooling consumption 280 watts). Price here in Jakarta maximum S$400.
My 2 friends been using this for 11 months for 450 litres tank (set at 27'C) with satisfaction.
Or the other brand that more than enough to cover your tank is AZOO Chiller 1/6 Hp with S$700 (second hand), the quality & efficiency is excellent to cover up to 700 litres (set at 26'C).
    Hope this help.
    Cheers,

    William,
Check locally if it's available first. The frieght may cost more than the chiller itself.

    Ascape,
Care to share where abouts to shop for fish stuff in Jakarta?
    Cheers!!

    Hi,
In Jakarta you can shop the fish at 2 places :
    1. Sumenep Fish Market (located in Menteng area)
    2. Barito Fish Market (located in South Jakarta)
Again this is depend on what kind of fish that you are looking for.
For some aquascaping hobbyist normally we come to reputable fish farm to get better price, small/young age that will last longer, healthy+stable fish condition.
But our's compared to Singapore is nothing (in term of species selection)
Let me know if you need further info.
    Cheers,

    William,
If you really want to buy this I'll check the packaging & weight and courier charges. There are lot of courier door to door which is specializing in delivery between Jkt-Sin.
Have you check the Resun CL-280 availability in lfs?
Let me know if you really want it, I'm happy to assist you.
    Cheers,

There's another chiller you can consider. Brand not sure but it's Korean made. Very silent and pricing should be reasonable. Bioplast is their distributor. Rating may be abit suspicious as BAh Tan claims that the 1/10 hp can cool up to 25 deg for a 4ft. Not sure.. better check it out yourself. Best refered to the operation manual.
    Cheers!!

Actually there a number of new chillers on the market that are very similar to the Korean brand distributed in Singapore. Basically they come from one OEM and then branded by the various companies. From what I have heard, there are small differences, such in the control circuits and panels.

I know that Ocean Planet (I don't know the address and its not in the LFS list) is testing one of these chillers on one of their tanks. You can always go down and talk to them, they are pretty friendly and knowledgable (usage feedback wise) about the chillers available.

I think resun has some chillers which are quite affordable...under 700 for a 1/4 hp which the poster says can chill up to 1000 liter tank if I am not mistaken.....Pet Pro has them ....(order basis)..... call them to check

1000L? To what temperature? It's true that they can chill but you also have to know whats the lowest temperature they can achieve for that given volume. Another point you should take note is at what ambient temp. Check the datasheet that the chiller comes with.

    lvanilla,

Am considering the brands using the same OEM chiller as the Bioplast one. I need to go shop around and find out what are the differences... but the cooling hardware should be the same, just the control panels and options are different. Depends on whether this year got bonus and how big it is... []

I also want to wait a little longer and find out what Ocean Planet thinks of the chiller and what feedback he has gotten from users.

    William,

Go to http://www.sgreefclub.com and browse the buy/sell forum... I think they call it pasar malam or something like that. Lots of ppl sell chiller on it all the time.
