What is the most effective way of getting rid of them? I added some green away don't seem they work

Hope I can have some advise from all the experts
    Thank you so much.

Re: Help needed from all the experts

    Hi,

I'm not sure if its the same problem which i had. You can read my thread here: http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...-Algae-Problem

There are pictures. But anyway, I bought this thing called "Algae Stop-90". Brand is Aqumedi. For less than $10. I dosed the recommended dosage, minimized my lighting period and intensity, and it went away within a week. I am still not sure if its the "Algae Stop-90" which cleared the algae, or if its the light, or whether its just cause of the normal cycling period. Maybe you could try the same things and hopefully they'll work for you too.

    Hi Shadow and paradox,

Thank you for all your help.

    My tank size is (30cm X 16cm X 22cm) see picture attached
    NO CO2,
Lighting not very sure (but the come with two Fluorescent tube) see picture attached
    Soil, not sure too?
I bought all this from one shop. (Thomson road. opposite Thomson Medical Centre)
    Overdose excel??

Sorry I'm new in this hobby. I want to start small from my office and understand more before I setup a 2-3 ft. tank in my study room with full equipment (co2, proper filter system and lighting plus all the necessary soil Shadow mentioned)

    Cheers

It is 1feet t5, lapis sand.
If your light period is too long or unstable it will easily reap algae.
(commonly people use 6-10 hours depending on what type of plants.)

Fert dosage can/may cause, you may want do share if you dose liquid fert.

If your using excel as carbon supplement. (co2 is carbon dioxide) I assume a small tank with excel will not spend the money for co2. Right?

Re: Help needed from all the experts

    Hi all,

Thank you for all the suggestions and help.

Seem like the problem solved, after I changed almost 70% of water plus shorter the light timer to 7.5 hours and add 4 very hardworking Amano Shrimp.

Wish all of you have a great year ahead...
