hi drato, i did buy a brand new GXC-110 a few months back. this model is 1 size smaller than the GXC-210. well apart from its compact size, i cant seem to find any other plus point for this chiller. Mine broke down in less than two weeks. Call for after sales service, they told me they don't repair and will only do a one to one exchange. for my model, they told me i purchased the last set in singapore and there isn't any more set available for exchange( next shipment may be 1 month or more, they told me they weren't sure). They propose that i upgrade to a GXC-210 with top-up. and in any case, during then, was advise that they also only left with 1 unit for the gxc 210 in singapore. I make a lot of noise before they finally relented and decided to give me a full refund. To sum up, in my opinion, if a chiller stop working only after 2 weeks of operation, there is seriously a big question mark in their make. together with the fact that they don't do repair and only offer a one to one exchange should your chiller break down within the warranty period, i believe you can paint the picture yourself now. Well once again this is just my personal opinion, they may have good sets around but the main question here is, would you really want to put your tank dynamics at risk??
Thanks Solstice for your sharing. What interest me is also the compact size. However I can't seem to find anything about the hp of the models. Now I guess I will just stick to the more "tried and tested" brands of chiller. Thanks again!
I am quite surprise to know that Japan brand chiller is not working after 2 weeks.
May i know the name or phone call of the so call after sales?
I have totally different experience with GEX chiller and the after sales service.
Their product is good (especially considering the price), after sales service is even better.
sure.. i got the set from c328 and after much deliberation, c328 finally got the agent to call me. I didn't keep the number because I gave up on the chiller brand. Though it sounded doggy, i stand true to my claim. I understand that it is a japanese brand, but it is still made in china.. perhaps i am the unlucky one.. yours may be a much better experience.
if i remember right..the agent name is mr teo..
Hi Bro Drato11
GEX chillers are made in china with japanese QC standard (japanese company with factory in china). As compared to other chinese brand, GEX are better.
I have been using an GEX chiller (bought in china, ship back to spore), model gxc 400 for my 5 feet tank. So far so good, pretty satisfied with the performance.
The LFS in china told me the hp for my model is 1/2hp. You can try the following link for more information. Please note it is in japanese with some chinese wordings.

Alternatively you can try emailing GEX for more information.
Thanks for all the sharing and advices! Cheers to this forum!![]()
I actually already used my gxc 110 for 3 months with no problem though..I believe it is still quieter and is better than other china brand chillers available in the market. Gex's chiller plus point is that it has a external probe to the chiller itself already. Regretted not getting the 210 instead though..
Aspiring to be.
I have a similar experience with my Gex chiller too . I bought mine beginning of the year. It was fine initially, compact and quiet and comes with external probe, however it started giving problem after only a month of usage. Chiller refuse to kick in at preset temperature, all it does is giving out a humming sound without any hot air coming out .
Contacting for after sales service in a pain and all they say is to bring it to where I bought from and they will go take a look.
In the end I brought it down to another place for repair . It works fine after that. Cost me quite a bit for the repair.
Now, I can forsee its going to give problem again soon. I can hear a squeaking sound accompanying the normal humming during operation.
So my take is, buying a Gex Chiller is a gamble, count your blessing if you get a good set.
Sorry drato 11, the question is mend for you. My apology.
Hi leefhker, which other China made chiller brand/model are you comparing it with?
lets not talk about the brand resun since it is less efficient compared to hailea (if you already search and looked around the forum comparing both brands)... gex chillers utilises titanium heat exchangers which is similar to european brands..in terms of build and efficiency this is already better than most china brand chillers in our market. Also it does already have an external probes attached to it..and lets say you did not modify the gex chiller(with probe) and any china brand chiller(without probe), which do you think will consume more electricity? From my own experience using the gex chiller,my electricity bill per month increased by less than 10 dollars (inclusive of a new 55w pl light --8hours per day). It is just for a single 2ft tank. So if anybody have experience using a hailea chiller of similar hp to gxc 110, please do tell us how efficient is it compared to other chillers..
to add on, my kick in time is about 9-11 minutes and kicks out for 55 minute(about 50l)..
Aspiring to be.
Hi,
I bought a brand new Hailea 130 and 1 week after using, it broke down. Sent back to agent and found out that the oil was leaking and not enough gas.
Although repair is free, but troublesome of sending in and collecting back. Repair took 1 day.
Frustrating experience.
